Sleep is the Foundation to Your Health
This is your reminder of how important 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep is for you 💤
Sleep is foundational to your health and helps with preventing & managing chronic disease.
Sleep is involved in healing and repair for your body including, the heart, blood vessels, bone, gut, brain and even your cells!

Sleep disturbances can mean difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, and/or getting deep sleep.
Melatonin (our sleep hormone) is needed to help us fall asleep. It is produced in darkness & helps balance cortisol in the body. Eliminating light stimuli (phone, TV, computer) at least 30 minutes before bed can help produce melatonin.

Our body uses sleep to balance hormones and cortisol, needed for our immune system, growth, repair, & decreasing inflammation in the body.

Lack of sleep can cause increased production of stress hormones and lower sleep quality is associated with increased risk of high blood pressure, strokes, decreased resilience to cold & flu, increased pain, poor decision making, depression and anxiety
