As we transition from warm to crisp air, the colder weather often brings along chills, common colds and flus. Soup is a great and simple way not only to warm up, but to also prep your immune system to fight off any foreign substances! Below, Dr. Jennifer has shared her favourite Change of Season Soup Recipe:
As always, aim to eat fresh, non-processed, organic, hormone/antibiotic free foods. To prevent and combat the cold and flue season, the following are the main dietary adjustments to be made:
- Reduce simple carbohydrate consumption and refined sugars. Bacteria survive on sugar!
- Increase Vitamin C containing foods, such as fresh fruit!
- Decrease consumption of dairy
